Southborough Lane Surgery

Dr Collins is a wonderful GP who has treated my family and me over the last 20 years.
Also the reception staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and go out of their way to ensure that you feel happy with the service. I would put this practice on par with a private practice. There is one receptionist in particular who really stands out and that is Kathy. Such a warm, understanding and caring person who goes above and beyond to show empathy and understanding. Thank you Dr Collins and Kathy, you are brilliant.
Thank you for leaving such lovely feedback. I shall pass your comments on to both Dr Collins and Kathy and I know they will be very appreciative. We are proud of all of our team who collectively make this surgery the best that it can be. Response left by Sally Gaites\Assistant Practice Manager
I can honestly say that every doctor I have seen at this surgery has been absolutely lovely. In a 10 minute appointment, whatever the time of day, they have been attentive and caring and I have never felt rushed. That takes real skill and I am so grateful for that, thank you. A comment I would make on the surgery environment is that the photographic images could be helping to perpetuate a racist element/attitude that exists within the community towards ethnic minorities as they portray them only in traditional roles outside the UK. I’m sure it’s the last thing the staff have time for but positive images of all ethnicities reflecting their lives within the UK may assist in challenging some of those negative stereotypes.
Thank you for leaving this feedback and I am glad that you are happy with the service that our GPs provide. The pictures you mention were actually taken in the country of origin by one of our GPs and are meant to celebrate the wonderful and eclectic world that we live in. There are not only pictures of people but also many of animals in their natural habitat. I am surprised that you find these images negative as this is not our intention at all and we would never wish to offend anyone but we have had lots of positive feedback about them as well which just goes to prove you can't please all of the people all of the time. Great help given to me over the phone today (by Kathy). Difficult time for us as parents of a newly diagnosed young son with Type 1 diabetes so it was comforting to be attended to by a friendly and very efficient member of your team.
Thank you for taking time to leave this feedback. We are very proud of our reception team and I am glad you were happy with the service you received. Response left by Sally Gaites/Assistant Practice Manager.
Called in with a problem about a confusing message an elderly relative had received. Anthony and Kathy were polite, helpful and generous with their time to resolve the problem. We now have a clearer way forward so such confusions do not reoccur. Thank you.

The surgery is so much better now it is at Southborough Lane and it is easier to get an appointment.
I just want to say how nice it is to see Dr. Weehed, he really listen and makes you feel comfortable.
However getting a blood test has changed, your web site says they can be done at the surgery and at the PRUH. (Can you have a blood test done at the surgery, if so I was not aware of it)
I went to the PRUH on Friday and there Phlebotomy clinic has closed and you have to go to Orpington/Beckenham hospital or make an appointment at various GP surgeries. Southborough Lane is not one of the surgeries listed.
This is not a complaint but would be helpful to other patients and save them going up to the PRUH(particularly for those less able) if the web site reflected the changes.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. I will pass on your comments to Dr Waheed. You can book a phlebotomy appointment here at the surgery but appointments are limited as it says on our website. You can also book (via this surgery) to have blood taken at other phlebotomy clinics being run by The Bromley GP Alliance in the borough and this is also mentioned on our website. You are correct that we need to amend the fact that the PRUH no longer offers a walk in service and I will endeavour to get this changed. Thank you for leaving this valuable feedback.
